The vision at Amy Kent is to provide high quality bespoke rugs at affordable prices.

The designs are inspired by every day shapes - from trees, leaves and flowers to architectural features and patterns. They are all simple designs that are both classic and contemporary, suiting traditional and modern interiors alike. All the rugs are made to order and can be individually customised - any size can be specified and we have an extensive range of colours to choose from.

The rugs are made in a cottage industry near Varanasi, India; a region well known for its carpet making skills. They are individually hand knotted on looms using the Nepalese weave technique. The majority of the designs are 9/25 quality, but the more detailed ones and those in loop-pile are 10/32, a higher knot, and we also do a flat weave. They are all extremely durable as well as luxurious in feel. The backgrounds are typically made from wool, with the patterns in viscose, although they can be made solely from wool or viscose if preferred. Both materials are hand dyed in the region.
